DAY 1 YOGYAKARTA
Arrival at Yogyakarta international airport. Meet and greet at the airport, transfer to your hotel.
Overnight in YOGYAKARTA

DAY 2 YOGYAKARTA – BOROBUDUR – PRAMBANAN
Our highlights tour discover the extraordinary Borobudur temple, a world heritage site built during the 8th century. Stroll through Borobudur’s ten terraces and glance at its magnificent bas-reliefs and statues, which were buried under layers of volcanic ash for over ten centuries. In the afternoon visit Prambanan temple, Java’s most interesting Hindu shrines of the 9th century, regarded as one of the most beautiful Hindu’s temple in the world and is known as the Rara Jonggrang temple or the temple of the ‘slender virgin’. This temple, represents the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva with a bas-relief depicting the famous Ramayana story.

DAY 3 YOGYAKARTA – MOJOKERTO (BY TRAIN) – BROMO
Leave Jogja by train to Mojokerto. Arriving there, continue the journey by car along the east side through java’s heartland, passing endless teak forests and lush countryside to Bromo. Along the way you will discover picturesque landscapes.

DAY 4 BROMO – IJEN
Before dawn, begin the ascent by road to the peak of Mt Penanjakan (viewpoint) 2700 m, to view the sunrise over the whole of the Tengger caldera. It is an incomparable panorama to see the sunrise from the volcano ring. After dawn descend into the valley to ascend again on horseback by “the path to heaven.” From the top of Mt Bromo you can see the active volcano which regularly expels gas vents to the outside. Then return to the hotel. Continue to drive to Ijen.

DAY 5 IJEN – GILIMANUK
Depart by jeep 4×4 through beautiful landscapes of rice fields and tropical forests, then conduct a trek (2h) to the sulphur crater (good fitness necessary). The summit is truly breathtaking and you will have a spectacular view of the huge Ijen crater of turquoise (lake), the beautiful mountain valley and an extraordinary visual experience. Find the miners and porters working inside the crater. Enjoy nature, and then descending to Kalibendo with its colourful coffee plantations, rubber, cotton and cloves. Transfer to the port of Ketapang, to board the ferry crossing the strait of Bali to Gilimanuk.
