DAY 1
CHIANG MAI – PAI
This morning, meet your guide and depart on a three-hour drive into the mountains to the town of Pai. On the way, make a stop in the village of Mae Malai, where you’ll visit the interesting local market. Your guide will explain to you about some of the local products on sale here. The next stop is the Mork Fah Waterfall. This small but pretty waterfall is part of the Huay Nam Dang National Park. If you want you can swim here. Continue to Pong Duad Hot Springs where it will stop briefly. Continue to Pai along the winding and very scenic road that leads through Huay  Nam Dang National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the campsite of Huay Nam Dang national park. After lunch drive to the Karen village Baan Mae Ping. This village has been developed into a craft centre. This craft center was established here to help raise the standard of living and to promote exquisite craftsmanship of Karen people. Here the process of weaving and dyeing cloth
is demonstrated. Late this afternoon you will arrive in Pai, a small town surrounded by impressive mountains.

DAY 2
MAE HONG SON
This morning we will visit the small local market of Mae Hong Son. Board a local boat for an entertaining ride on the Pai River to Baan Piang Din, a settlement of the Long Neck people. Your guide will explain about the situation of these gentle people. Return to Mae Hong Son by boat. After this you will visit some interesting Burmese style Buddhist temples such Wat Kong Mu, sitting atop a hill just west of town. The temple contains a beautiful image of Buddha carved from alabaster. Return to the hotel. Rest of the afternoon free at leisure.

MAE HONG SON
This morning we will visit the small local market of Mae Hong Son. Board a local boat for an entertaining ride on the Pai River to Baan Piang Din, a settlement of the Long Neck people. DAY 4
MAE HONG SON – MAE SARIANG
After breakfast drive to Khun Yuam, a quiet town that most people pass by. Visit the Thai-Japanese Memorial Hall. This museum commemorates the presence of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War 2 but also focuses on the history of the “Tai Yai” of Khun Yuam. Near Khun Yuam visit the scenic village Tai Yai village Muang Pon which has a centuries old monastery, called Wat Muang Pon. We will stop here briefly. Continue to Mae La Noi. Drive up to the Lawa village Ban Mae La Up. We will stop to enjoy the splendid views. The Lawa or Lua, as the Northern Thai call them, are found only in Thailand. They are the real indigenous people of North Thailand and were already living here when the Thais migrated from Southern China. Your guide will explore the village and meet some of the villagers. Also visit the Karen village Huay Hom famour for its sustainable agriculture and the Arabica bean. Karen sells premium coffee beans to Starbucks, and distributes the second-best beans under their own Huay-Hom brand. After this we will drive back to the main road. Continue to Mae Sariang which is located on the Yuam River.

DAY 4
MAE SARIANG – DOI INTHANON – CHIANG MAI
Early departure to Doi Inthanon National Park. Stop along the way at the Obluang National Park where you will make a short hike to admire the gorge. Continue to Doi Inthanon. Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand (2,565 m). It was declared a national park in 1972. The park boasts the greatest diversity of forest types and bird species found in any single park in the country and has many beautiful waterfalls. We will drive up to the summit of Doi Inthanon where we will embark on a beautiful nature trail, the Kew Mae Pan Nature trail*. A local guide of the
Hmong tribe will accompany us. Here we walk for a couple of hours through unspoilt cloud forest. When the skies are clear, the views are magnificent. After lunch we will visit the two chedis that have been constructed here to honour the 60th birthday of the King and Queen. We will continue to the Vachirathan waterfall and the Mae Klang waterfall. Along the way we will stop at the Hmong market where products from the Royal Project are for sale. Drive back to Chiang Mai. Drop off at the hotel.
* The Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail is closed from June 1 until October 31. In this period, we will do the Pha Dork Siew Nature trail instead*
